FAQ's - Buying a New Car
Where do you get your new car price information from?
All our new car dealerships are responsible for updating the prices they advertise on Cars2buy.co.uk. Because our new car price guide is so good, the dealers are extra vigilant about the prices and update them in real-time to make sure our users are quoted the best price possible for all new car models.
Can I submit more than one new car enquiry?
We understand users are probably interested in more than one new car model or would like to contact several car dealers about a particular model. So we encourage all users to make as many new car price enquiries as they would like, new car queries are free and you are under no obligation to order a vehicle with any dealer.
Is the car price advertised the total amount I will pay?
Not necessarily. All car prices advertised for new cars will include VAT, first registration fee and at least 6 months road fund licence. Please remember additional extras are just that, if you want to add new car accessories to your new car, the dealers do provide you a comprehensive list for you to select from. The total price including car accessories is then calculated for you to make it easier. We recommend contacting the car dealer to discuss in more detail.
All van prices advertised for new vans will exclude VAT, first registration fee and road fund licence. Please remember additional extras are just that, if you want to add new van accessories to your new van, the dealers do provide you a comprehensive list for you to select from. The total price including van accessories is then calculated for you to make it easier. We recommend contacting the van dealer to discuss in more detail.
Please confirm all prices with the dealership prior to ordering a vehicle.
What is a pre-registered car or van?
A pre-registered vehicle is a new vehicle that has been registered first in the dealer’s name. You will be the second registered keeper of the vehicle and the vehicle will usually have delivery miles. This is actually a good thing for any new car buyers, because there are some excellent savings to be had on pre-registered vehicles. Be sure to ask the dealer you enquire with any questions you have about buying a pre-registered vehicle.
What is PCH (Personal Contract Hire)?
PCH stands for Personal Contract Hire, which is a form of leasing. With a personal contract hire agreement you are contracted to take the car for a fixed period, you DO NOT OWN the car and at the end of the PCH contract you have to return the car to the leasing company and therefore don't have to worry about resale values.
What is the difference between a main franchised dealer and an independent vehicle broker?
Independent vehicle brokers are able to sell vehicles from more than one manufacturer. The new cars or vans they sell are the same you would buy from your local car dealer but the discounts they receive are usually negotiated directly with the manufacturers.
How long will I have to wait my new car to be delivered?
Delivery times can vary. The car dealers advert on Cars2buy.co.uk should give you an idea of delivery times. If you are flexible on the precise car specification of the new car you want then our dealerships may be able to find a vehicle in stock more quickly. Obviously if you are adding car accessories and little extras then the delivery can take longer, but hopefully worth the wait..
Why isn't my local car or van dealer listed?
All national and regional car dealers can advertise on Cars2buy.co.uk, if your local dealer is not listed don't worry, all our car dealers will deliver your new car nationwide. Remember there are quite a lot of car dealerships in the UK, so it’s just a matter of time until they come on to Cars2Buy hopefully…
I have a vehicle to part-exchange, is this possible?
Many of our dealers accept part exchange vehicles. When you submit your new car or van enquiry, make sure you ask the dealer about part-exchanging your current vehicle when they contact you.
