Details of Seat’s Ateca SUV released

Seat’s latest SUV model will arrive in the UK at the start of September.

Costing from £17,990, the new crossover SUV will share its platform with the Volkswagen Tiguan and the future Skoda Yeti.

The SEAT Ateca measures 4.36 metres long – making it slightly shorter than the Renault Kadjar.

It is heavily influenced by the popular Seat Leon and buyers will be able to choose between a number of diesel and petrol engines.

The entry-level petrol engine will be a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged block capable of producing 114bhp, while the diesel range includes a 1.6-litre offering 114bhp and CO2 emissions of 112g/km.

Inside, the Ateca has an infotainment system with a five-inch display as standard, although there is the option to upgrade to a 6.5-inch or eight-inch screen.
