Ford to introduce new vehicle at Barcelona event

Ford to unveil new vehicle for Europe at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

This month's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona will be a significant occasion for Ford fans, with the automaker set to introduce a brand new vehicle for Europe at the event on February 22nd.

Mark Fields, president and chief executive of the company, will make the announcement as part of his keynote speech, which will also include details of the latest in-car technology and progress on the Ford Smart Mobility plan.

Mr Fields will discuss developments in mobility, data and analytics, connectivity, customer experience and autonomous vehicles.

Also due to speak at Mobile World Congress is Ken Washington, vice-president of Ford's research and advanced engineering division, who will announce the winners of a challenge that asked developers to create concepts to inspire new mobility solutions.

This will be the fifth consecutive year that Ford has exhibited at the world's biggest mobile event.

Earlier this month, the manufacturer released figures showing that the Ford Fiesta was once again the top-selling small car in Europe last year, with 314,432 models purchased, up from 309,120 in the previous year.
