Honda reveals new Civic

Honda has revealed the design of its latest production Honda Civic hatchback.

The 2017 version of the popular model has undergone a significant revamp and is inspired by Honda’s recent concept Civic.

US buyers will be able to order the new car before the end of the year, with the new look Civic expected to launch in the UK and Europe at the start of 2017.

The US models will come with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine offering around 170 bhp, while the European line-up will feature an additional two engine options – a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 1.6-litre turbodiesel.

All of the five-door Civics will be built at Honda’s UK plant in Swindon and it is likely there will also be Civic Tourer and Type R versions in the pipeline.
