Hyundai Tucson wins top award

Hyundai's Tucson model has been named as the best family car of the year at the recent Recombu awards.

The latest SUV from Hyundai has been praised for its design and high-level of on-board technology.

Launched in August, the Tucson was a replacement for the ix35 and has a number of gadgets as standard, with all models benefitting from alloy wheels, automatic headlights, LED daytime running lights and steering wheel controls.

Rory Reid, editor-in-chief at Recombu Cars, explained the car has "the most stylish looks in the segment, excellent build quality, a comfortable, family-friendly cabin, vast amounts of interior space, modern safety kit and efficient engines. The Tucson represents the pinnacle of what's possible in a modern crossover – and that's no mean feat in a sector full of excellent alternatives."

Tony Whitehorn, president and chief executive officer with Hyundai Motor UK, said the award recognised how popular the car has proved with customers and industry experts.
