Jeep Compass gets updated

Jeep has confirmed plans to release a revamped Compass model next year.

The automaker is forecasting an increase of annual sales to 1.9 million by 2018 and the updated Jeep Compass could play a key role in achieving this.

Designers have adopted a more aerodynamic style for the compact SUV and the model will be produced at Jeep’s Pernambuco plant in Brazil.

"This Jeep represents the heart of the global SUV market right now. Small SUVs are selling well and they are selling well globally," said Karl Brauer, senior director of content for Cox Automotive. "

This is an extremely important vehicle that will help to form the backbone of Jeep's global presence for the foreseeable future."

Jeep has seen a strong increase in popularity in recent years, with worldwide sales increase by over 140 per cent since 2008.
