Kia to show off the Soul in Geneva

There will soon be a new Kia deal available to motorists who are impressed with the manufacturer, but are wanting to make the leap to green motoring.

The all-new Kia Soul EV is going to make its European debut at the 84th Geneva Motor Show on March 4th.

Here, the world will get its first in-depth look at the second generation Kia Soul and the electronic version, which will start coming off production lines in the summer.

It is a front-wheel drive electric vehicle that is powered by a high-capacity 27 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery pack. One of the main innovations is the class-leading 200 Wh/kg battery energy density, while the power is created by an 81.4 kW motor that will produce 285 Nm of torque. Like most electric vehicles, it will be ideal for city commuters due to its great economy minimal emissions and a single-charge driving range of around 124 miles (200km).

The Kia Soul will be one of the most practical of the new generation of electric cars. The designers have maximised efficiency by looking to reduce the load on the battery whenever possible. This means the car comes equipped with advanced heating, ventilation and air-conditioning technologies and a four-mode regenerative braking system.

However, it is not only its battery credentials that will make this an exciting Kia deal. The low centre of gravity, redesigned platform and chassis and new productions materials that have been chosen to reduce noise, vibration and harshness, make for a great driving experience.

As ever with Kia, the Soul EV will feature the amazing seven-year or 100,000-mile warranty that has helped to make models such as the cee'd so popular around the world.

Kia's stand at the Geneva Motor Show will also feature a special technology exhibit for the manufacturer's next-generation hybrid powertrain, an enhanced Kia Sportage and upgraded Optima Hybrid. The GT4 Stinger concept car unveiled in Detroit will also get another outing.
