Mazda launched new CX-5 models

Mazda has announced new car deals in its compact crossover CX-5 range.

All of the upgraded versions will feature the innovative fuel-saving SKYACTIV technology, which has made the CX-5 and the Mazda3 so popular with a generation of savvy motorists.

The Japanese manufacturer recently released six other new Sport Venture models across its range and the new CX-5s will be available in the same colour offerings – Blue Reflex Mica and Deep Crystal Blue Mica.

Further new features include retuned dampers, bushes and stabilisers which can improve the driving experience by delivering increased comfort and reducing noise, vibration and harshness.

Peter Allibon, sales director at Mazda UK, said: "When we first launched the Mazda CX-5, we were confident it would quickly establish new class standards thanks to its SKYACTIV technology and unrivalled blend of performance (up to 420Nm of torque and 0-62mph acceleration from 8.8 seconds), fuel economy (up to 61.4mpg) and low emissions (from just 119g/km)".

He explained the CX-5 is already a very popular choice with British drivers, having sold 6,000 units in the UK last year – a figure that was 227 per cent higher than 2012.

Mazda expects the new models will continue to make the crossover highly sought after in 2014.

Other changes include the use of a new clutch restart system that allows the driver to rectify a stall simply by depressing the clutch within three seconds, while the Mazda3's straight-shift gate is added to all the new manual CX-5s.

The SE-L Lux and Sport models now get a memory function, which means the driver's powered seat will always feel right.

Altogether, the new releases mean the Mazda CX-5 now has a 20-car strong line-up in 2014, with prices starting from £21,595 and engine options including 165ps petrol or 150/175ps diesel.
