New Renault Megane design revealed

The recent Frankfurt Motor Show saw the revealing of the highly-anticipated 2016 Renault Megane model.

Renault's popular family hatchback has been given a major update and a curvier lines. The revamp brings the car in line with recently redesigned Espace and Clio.

Overall, the new Megane is 25mm lower than previous models and 47mm wider at the front and 39mm wider at the rear – this helps give a sportier feel to the design, as well as increase the room for driver and passenger.

There is a wide range of options available to Megane fans, with the base models offering more basic features, while the more expensive models will benefit from a number of extras such as touchscreen in-car displays, digital dials and polished aluminium controls.

Buyers may also want to consider the Megane with a GT-style trim – this is expected to offer 18-inch allow wheels and sport seats.

In terms of engine, Renault is likely to offer a number of petrol and dCi diesel units, as well as a Renaultsports version capable of offer up to 300 bhp.
