Nissan finds further success in the fleet market

Nissan's range of new car offers are certainly finding popularity with a wide-range of car buyers.

The likes of the Qashqai, Juke and all-electric Leaf are now common sights on the roads of the UK and the company is becoming a favourite with British businesses. The latest figures from the Japanese manufacturer show its fleet sales leapt by 30 per cent in the last financial year.

With companies looking to save money where they can, the Leaf was in huge demand and was the driving force behind the sales rise. The car recorded a sales increase of 132 per cent in the 2013 financial year and helped contribute to a total of 27,912 core fleet and leasing sales for Nissan.

The all-new Qashqai is ensuring that this success continues in 2014. The latest crossover was released at the start of the year and has already made a big impact with car buyers. Businesses bought 2,000 of these last month alone, which is over double the amount that was sold in March last year.

In total, the Qashqai had a 15 per cent sales increase while the Juke's sales shot up by 36 per cent over the annual period.

The company was pleased with the results and said the figures represent a great year, one that saw strong natural demand for core fleet and leasing products across its range.

Nissan GB corporate sales director Barry Beeston commented: "The 2013 financial year has been prosperous for our corporate sales with electric vehicles in particular proving to be an increasingly viable option for fleet operators.

"With the all-electric e-NV200 van being released later this year it is an exciting time for Nissan and we believe we will see a further increase in demand for the rest of this year and into 2015."
