Off-road Seat Ateca planned

An off-road version of the Seat Ateca is set to be released in 2017.

The Ateca X-Perience will offer a rugged version of the existing Ateca and will appeal to those looking for a four-wheel drive.

Seat’s images of the new car will feature 18-inch wheels, off-road bumpers, mud flaps mounted on the rear bumpers and chromed roof rails.

Under the bonnet is a 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine with 190 bhp with a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox and drivers will benefit from the hill descent control.

No official details of pricing have been revealed, but it is expected to be around £1,000 more than the top of the range Ateca Xcellence, which sells for £23,905 with the 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine options.
