Renault reveals new SUV

Renault has confirmed its new large crossover SUV will be named the Kadjar.

The new car is set to be revealed at the start of next month and could prove to be a rival to leading SUV options the Nissan Qashqai, Skoda Yeti and Mazda CX-5.

Kadjar has been inspired by the work quad and the French world jallir, which means agility.

The official launch will take place at the forthcoming Geneva Motor Show in March and no images have been made available of the latest Renault model. However, it is expected it will have design echoes of the smaller Renault Captur, as well as being inspired by a number of concept cars produced by the car maker in recent months.

It is expected Renault will benefit from its current partnership with Nissan and the Kadjar will be based on the same Common Module Family platform as the Qashqai.

Further details have not been forthcoming, but it is likely consumers will be able to choose from petrol and diesel versions, as well as front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options.

Images on the new model are expected to appear on Facebook and Twitter over the next few days before details are revealed on February 2nd.
