Volvo S90 saloon details revealed

Volvo has revealed details of its new Volvo S90 ahead of the car's launch in 2016.

Set to be a possible rival to the BMW 5-Series, the Detroit show debut saw more focus on elegance, with sculpted headlights and new LEDs that are likely to be the main focus on Volvo's latest line-up.

It is also likely the S90 will use the same power choices as seen in the XC90 range – including Drive-E turbocharged four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, rather than six-cylinders.

The aim to deliver luxury is reflected in the interior of the new model, with Nappa leather seats, a crystal gear selector and matt wood inlays. There will also be the standard Volvo focus on safety features, including parking assistance technology and in-car airbags.

Prices for the new S90 when it goes on sale is expected to be from £30,000 upwards.
