Volkswagen has signaled its commitment to the electric car market with a new concept model.
The new ID electric car concept has a 373-mile range and can even drive itself. VW has based the car on its new Modular Electric Drive (MEB) architecture.
Measuring the same size as a Golf and with a five-door hatchback, but there is where the similarities ends.
Fitted with a retracting steering wheel and an automated driving function called ID Pilot means deliveries can be made – without the need to even get in the vehicle.
Volkswagen believe the car will be put into production from 2020, with its full autonomous capabilities available from 2025.
