Ford Focus ECOnetic Wins WhatGreenCar.com's Green Car of the Year 2008
The Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi ECOnetic has been awarded the Green Car of the Year Award by WhatGreenCar.com. With the 1.6 TDCi diesel engine giving a combined fuel consumption of 65.6mpg and emissions of 115g CO2/km, the Ford Focus scored better then a Toyota Prius hybrid on WhatGreenCar.com's environmental impact rating.
The judges of the award were an independent panel of industry specialists, including representatives from the Environmental Transport Association and the Energy Saving Trust.
The Focus ECOnetic was the first in the Ford range, to be followed by a Mondeo ECOnetic in July 2008 and a Fiesta ECOnetic early 2009.
