BMW unveils the new 7 Series

BMW has officially revealed all the details of the brand new 7 Series, which is sure to capture the attention of luxury vehicle lovers around the world.

The prestigious German automaker revealed a number of updates and improvements to the car, from the latest technologies on the inside to exterior design tweaks and refinements.

In what the company called an "extensive" refresh of the car's exterior styling, the 7 Series now has a front end that is around 50mm taller and a larger kidney grille, one of the defining features of BMW's most popular cars.

Air intakes for M Sport models have been updated and now feature C-shaped surrounds, while other revisions include aerodynamically improved contouring of the front apron's lower border.

Eagle-eyed BMW aficionados might also spot that the three-dimensional rear lights of the new 7 Series are 35mm thinner than on the previous car, while a slim light strip has been added below the chrome bar across the full width of the tailgate.

On the inside, the car will come equipped as standard with a hands-free phone system offering wireless charging, LED ambient lighting in a choice of six colours and a rear-seat entertainment system, complete with two ten-inch HD displays and a Blu-ray player.

Gadget fans will also enjoy the latest version of BMW's Touch Command unit, a tablet with a seven-inch screen that provides functions including seat adjustment and climate control.

The new 7-Series will offer a choice of petrol and diesel engines with six, eight and 12 cylinders, as well as a plug-in hybrid drive system with extended electric range.

Introducing the refreshed favourite, BMW said: "With more technological advancements that deliver both outstanding comfort and handling, greater fuel efficiency and innovative driver assistance and connectivity, the new BMW 7 Series sets out its stall as the ultimate vehicle for luxurious driving pleasure."

The new model will go on sale from April 13th 2019.
