Citroen C5 Aircross records 50,000 sales since January

Plenty of you must have been looking for new car deals on the Citroen C5 Aircross SUV since its launch in January – because the brand has revealed it has already notched up sales of 50,000 units across Europe.

This makes it Citroen's third best-selling passenger vehicle for the first half of 2019, behind only the more established C3 Supermini and the C3 Aircross Compact SUV.

Indeed, between January and June this year, SUVs from the Citroen stable represented nearly one in four brand sales worldwide, as well as almost one in three passenger car sales in the UK.

It was also found that buyers in Britain are really going all out when they choose to buy a C5 Aircross, as nearly half of registrations have been for the top-of-the-range Flair+ trim level.

Demand for the EAT8 automatic versions – with their Citroen Advanced Comfort features – has also been particularly high in this country.

All new C5 Aircross SUV models feature Citroen's trademark Progressive Hydraulic Cushion suspension system, with even comfier seats going into the Flair and Flair+ styles.

Boot space is another unique selling point for this vehicle, with up to 720 litres available for those who need to tote a lot of stuff around.

There are also three individual sliding and reclining rear seats for maximum flexibility and passenger comfort – something that is sure to go down well with those taking their children on family breaks and eager to avoid squabbling in the back.

The C5 Aircross was billed as the brand's foray into family crossover vehicles and was lauded upon its launch for its comfort and practicality, with reviewers saying it felt like a crossover on the outside but an MPV on the inside.

A plug-in hybrid model is expected to arrive early in 2020 and Citroen will no doubt be hoping it does as well as its predecessors in terms of popularity.
