Fiat 500X reaches milestone of 500k

We knew the Fiat 500X was proving popular among those who like a good crossover vehicle, but now the carmaker has the figures to prove it.

This month, the 500,000th Fiat 500X rolled off the production line at the brand's Melfi manufacturing plant in southern Italy, a hub that sends cars to more than 100 countries worldwide.

In fact, the Melfi plant is also celebrating its own milestone this year, as it has been operating for 25 years and has constructed models including the Fiat 500X and the Jeep Renegade.

Back to the Fiat though, and the vehicle that carried the historic 500,000 was the 120th edition model of the 500X, launched at this year's Geneva International Motor Show to celebrate Fiat's 120th anniversary.

Described as 'stylish on the outside and smart on the inside', the car certainly has plenty of sought-after individuality.

It is available for the first time in a two-colour livery, with three combinations of bi-colour Tuxedo paint available: Ice White, Ivory and Argento Grey, all with a black roof. Buyers can also choose from Cinema Black, Ice White, Argento Grey and Ivory tri-coat non bi-colour variants.

Inside, there is a unique copper-coloured upholstery, a key cover, rear parking sensors and rain and dusk sensors.

Plenty of attention to detail has been added on this car, with full LED headlights, exclusive 16-inch black alloy wheels, black side mouldings, body-coloured door mirrors and the 120th logo.

Under the bonnet, the Fiat 500X 120th is available with a 1.0-litre FireFly Turbo petrol engine that can generate 120hp.

Fiat's 500X is available in showrooms now from £19,500, although selected retailers may have new car deals on offer for the summer.

We think this is a model that's going to appeal to anyone who likes to express themselves through their car while still getting all the functionality of a great crossover.
