First Volvo XC60 ready to be delivered

The first XC60 mid-size SUV has rolled off the Volvo production line in Sweden.

Replacing the previous XC60 generation, the new car is expected to continue the success of the model that accounts for 30 per cent of Volvo’s worldwide sales.

Making use of technology, Volvo claim the new XC60 is one of the safest cars ever made because of its numerous on-board safety solutions, such as Steer Assist, Oncoming Lane Mitigation and the Blind Spot Information System.

“This is a proud day for everyone at the plant,” said Magnus Nilsson, vice president of the Torslanda plant.

“We have worked hard in recent weeks and months to prepare Torslanda for this latest new Volvo model, and now we are ready to start delivering new XC60s to customers.”

Inside, the Volvo continues its focus on technology, with smartphone integration with Android Apps and Apple CarPlay available as standard.
