Kia launches new models for summer season

With many people heading out looking for new car deals during the summer, Kia is hoping to tempt them towards its own vehicles by providing a host of special edition models for the season.

The vehicles will be available in showrooms over the coming weeks and include updates to several of the brand's most popular cars.

For example, there's the Picanto Titanium Edition, which comes with titanium silver paintwork as standard and features black faux leather upholstery in the cab. There are also black high-gloss trim accents for the door armrests, air vents and lower centre console trim.

Kia says this vehicle is targeted at a younger audience or the young at heart, with a price of £12,350 perhaps helping to appeal to this demographic.

Another new addition is the Stonic Maxx, which has white paintwork and a contrasting black roof for an overall stylish finish. This is complemented by black door mirrors and 17-inch graphite alloy wheels, with prices starting at £18,770 for the manual.

There's an update to the Ceed range with the GT-Line Lunar Edition, while fans of the Sportage can get hold of the brand new Platinum Edition.

This is available in either Dark Penta Metal or Lunar Silver and exclusively features the manufacturer's 134bhp 1.6-litre GDi petrol engine.

At £26,195, this is the priciest example of the summer range, but it is sure to appeal to anyone who wants a sophisticated and innovative SUV that stands out that little bit more than the existing Sportage.

"With the summer season now in full swing, Kia is turning up the heat even further with a range of special edition models. These eye-catching additions join the Picanto, Stonic, Ceed and Sportage ranges just in time for the temperatures to go off the scale," said a Kia spokesperson, displaying more optimism than most about the British weather.

We rate Kia vehicles highly, so it's well worth looking out for these summer specials if you're in the market for a new car – but we can't promise it won't rain on your test drive.
