Kia reveals specifications for all-new ProCeed

Kia has confirmed all the details for the brand new ProCeed, which will go on sale in the UK from January 21st 2019.

The Korean manufacturer states that the car "merges stunning design with the space and versatility of a tourer".

Designed, developed and engineered entirely in Europe, the ProCeed is part of the wider Ceed model family, alongside the original Ceed and the Ceed Sportswagon. It will be available in GT-Line, GT-Line S or high-performance GT variants.

The new model will represent an evolution from the second-generation pro_cee'd three-door coupe, aiming to embody the "spirit and athleticism" of its predecessor while offering an alternative to the traditional three-door hatchback.

Key features of the new ProCeed include an interior characterised by soft-touch surfaces, metallic trim and a horizontal dashboard layout.

Drivers will also be offered an eight-inch 'floating' touchscreen infotainment system at the centre of the dashboard, with audio and heating controls located below.

The car's boot capacity of 594 litres marks a 50 per cent increase on the Ceed five-door hatchback.

As far as the drive quality is concerned, Kia has designed the ProCeed to be versatile enough to navigate the diverse conditions and terrain found across Europe, from busy motorways and town centres to country lanes and mountain routes.

Fully independent suspension comes as standard, with the aim of giving the driver immediate handling responses, close body control under cornering and stability at high speeds.

Gregory Guillaume, vice-president of design at Kia Motors Europe, said: "We needed to reinvent the pro_cee'd to ensure that all its vitality and vibrancy wasn't simply lost.

"It had to be a model that not only sat at the top of the current Ceed family, but one that was also immediately identifiable as the most emotionally engaging car in the range. The result is the striking all-new ProCeed."
