New Nissan Leaf to make use of new technology

Nissan’s new Leaf has been launched and is set to make use of new technology to deliver even better performance.

The Leaf is the bestselling electric car in the UK and makes up more than 40 per cent of EV sales over the past 12 months.

Tenerife was picked as the launch venue for the second-generation Leaf and it is expected to go on general sale next month.

A number of upgrades have been made to the Leaf alongside a reduction in price and a styling makeover.

The entry-level Visia model is £1,500 cheaper than the first-generation model at £21,990, while the top of the range Tekna starts at £27,490.

The Visia has cruise control, LED rear lights, daytime running lights and a seven-inch infotainment screen as standard.

A step up is the Acenta, which offers a leather steering wheel, cruise control and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability. Buyers opting for the N-Connecta will be able to benefit from 17-inch alloy wheels, privacy glass and part-leather upholstery.

Top of the range is the Tekna, which offers heated leather seats, full LED headlights and a seven-speaker Bose audio system.

Nissan has already taken 12,000 orders for the new Leaf – with more than half coming from previous owners of the first-generation Leaf.
