New Volvo V60 Cross Country coming early 2019

Prices for Volvo’s new V60 Cross Country will start from £38,280 on the road when it arrives in showrooms early 2019.

With an extra 60mm of ground clearance and permanent all-wheel drive as standard, the new generation V60 Cross Country injects added all-road prowess into Volvo’s premium estate car range.

Contributing to its all-conquering capabilities are features like hill descent control – which automatically controls the car's speed down a steep slope – and an off-road drive mode setting. This alters the operation of the constantly variable all-wheel-drive system and the responsiveness of the engine, gearbox and accelerator pedal to help when negotiating tricky terrain below 25mph.

Super-efficient engine

Under the bonnet is a fuel efficient 187bhp D4 diesel engine, linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission, capable of delivering a relaxed, effortless drive in all conditions.

It produces up to 400Nm of torque from just 1,750rpm to support flexible and relaxed performance. This gives the kind of pulling power ideal to confidently tackle lower-grip surfaces.

On the standard 18-inch wheels, fuel economy rings in at 55.4mpg combined at CO2 emissions of 135g/km.

Best-in-class safety and boot space

Luggage capacity is class-leading with 529 litres of boot space, expanding to 1,441 litres with the rear seats folded down. Adding to its convenience is underfloor storage with cargo hooks on both sides of the boot and dual-zone climate control.

You can expect best-in-class safety too with technology such as city safety with automatic emergency braking, which can detect and help avoid potential collisions anything on the road ahead.

The V60 also benefits from oncoming collision mitigation, a world-first safety feature that detects vehicles travelling towards you and applies the brakes automatically to limit the severity of any potential impact.

Finished with a charcoal grey exterior, the V60 Cross Country comes with wheelarch extensions, lower sill mouldings and a rear bumper embossed with the Cross Country logo.

Orders for the new V60 Cross Country are being accepted now, ahead of initial deliveries in the first quarter of 2019.
