Nissan enjoys strong Qashqai performance

Nissan has now sold its three millionth Qashqai as sales of the popular model remain strong.

The automaker saw sales rise by 3.8 per cent in 2017, particularly enjoyed in France and Russia, with the later seeing a 12.4 per cent rise in sales.

Launched around ten years ago, the Qashqai has been built at Nissan’s Sunderland plant and has been a key model for Nissan.

In 2017, the plant produced 346,856 units, with 265,520 being sold in Europe.
The crossover SUV has picked up more than 80 awards, including 19 Car of the Year titles.

Paul Willcox, chairman of Nissan Europe, said: "2017 was another record-breaking year for Nissan Europe, and 2018 has started the same way.

“The Qashqai’s achievement of reaching 3,000,000 vehicles produced in ten years is a significant milestone, while the October launch of the new and eagerly awaited Nissan LEAF has seen record-breaking pre-orders of one every ten minutes.”

Nissan plans to see further increases in sales over the next 12 months, especially in Russia.
