Orders open for new Volkswagen T-Roc R

Orders open for new Volkswagen T-Roc R

Volkswagen has added a new performance SUV to its range of vehicles, with orders for the T-Roc R now open.

The car aims to offer plenty of versatility with a practical body style, delivering a power output rating of 300 PS and 400 Nm of torque.

This marks the first time there has been an R SUV since the Touarag R50 of 2008, as well as the first time since the Scirocco R that two R-badged models have been sold side by side; the Golf R is continuing to set the market alight among hot hatch fans right now.

So, what can you expect from the T-Roc R? The first unique selling point is its lightweight 19-inch Pretoria alloy wheels, which come fitted as standard.

There's also better flexibility thanks to multiple driving modes to subtly alter the car's characteristics and performance.

With a top speed of 155 mph and 0-62 acceleration in just 4.9 seconds, drivers are sure to note that handling and performance are quite a lot better than its predecessor the Touareg, making the vehicle perfect for anyone who wants a bit of power behind them when they take to the road.

What's more, those who keep style at the top of their shopping list when they're seeking new car deals are sure to love the range of finish options available on the T-Roc R. Buyers can choose from paintwork in Energetic Orange, Turmeric Yellow, White Silver, Indium Grey, Deep Black, Pure White, Flash Red and the R-exclusive Lapiz Blue, meaning you'll certainly stand out if you think this is the SUV for you.

Volkswagen UK's Claire Haynes said: "The T-Roc R really is the consummate all-rounder, and represents the best of the past, present and future of Volkswagen R."

T-Roc R models can be ordered now at a price starting from £38,450 on the road.

Volkswagen delivered 6.2 million vehicles including the Golf, Tiguan, Jetta and Passat in 2018, producing cars at more than 50 locations in 14 countries.
