Mums getting personalised registration plates

Mothers who are looking for new Volkswagen deals might like to consider getting a personalised registration plate.

According to the DVLA, individual registrations are becoming increasingly popular among women with children.

As a result, it believes a personalised plate could be an ideal gift for Mothering Sunday later this month.

“With a colossal 32 million personalised registrations sitting in the dvlaregistrations.direct.gov.uk vault, there will be one to suit all tastes and budgets,” it commented.

This coincides with advice from the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM), which has given expectant mothers tips on how to drive comfortably when pregnant.

The organisation said many women let the lap belt ride up to the middle of their abdomen without realising it.

It has therefore suggested they make sure it is worn as low as possible so it goes underneath the pregnancy bump.

The IAM added that wearing a seatbelt, even when pregnant, is a legal requirement.
