Motorists who are taking advantage of good Ford deals are increasingly choosing to snap up personalised registration plates.
According to the DVLA, this is because drivers have found it very easy to incorporate the new 10 indicator into a private registration.
As a result, the organisation believes that 10-plate registrations will become a very common sight on British roads.
Today sees the release of the new 10 registration plates in the UK, although vehicles that take to the road after September 1st 2010 will have a 60 designation.
Damian Lawson, an official at the DVLA, commented: "The simplicity of adapting 10 into the new style registrations in order to make up a personalised registration like a family or company name has clearly proved to be successful."
The roll-out of the new plates could encourage many road users to take advantage of favourable Ford deals, in particular those for models such as the Fiesta and the Kuga.
Nigel Sharp, managing director of Ford Britain, recently encouraged drivers to take advantage of these deals, as the company is currently offering what he described as its best ever line-up of vehicles.
