Citroen has announced the launch of its new DS3 Cabrio, which is the latest release from the manufacturer's successful DS line.<\/p>\n

The model is a soft-top version of the DS3 and aims to combine high aesthetics and intelligent design in an effort to simplify top-down driving and make it even more enjoyable to cruise around.<\/p>\n

It is hoped this al-fresco style of motoring will build on the hallmarks of the DS3 that have helped make the car so popular since it was first released almost three years ago.<\/p>\n

The new edition still boasts the refinement, styling and personalisation – which includes various roof designs and special editions – of the hatchback, which has been snapped up by more than 200,000 drivers across the globe.<\/p>\n

And with 36,000 DS3's registered in the UK alone, the release of the DS3 Cabrio could lead to an increasing number of people considering the latest Citroen deals<\/a> as they look for a new car for 2013.<\/p>\n

The Cabrio is the latest release from the DS line and should help the carmaker add to the 300,000 global sales it has already achieved through its DS3, DS4 and DS5 models.<\/p>\n

These high figures have been tallied in just 30 months since the launch of the DS and suggest the coming years may continue along the same lines of success.<\/p>\n

Boasting the largest boot in its segment – the space is 245 litres VDA – the vehicle is also the only five-seater in its class.<\/p>\n

In addition, the electrically operated folding roof can be opened and closed at speeds up to 75 mph, with the process of fully shutting the roof taking just 16 seconds.<\/p>\n

Safety features of in the new model include ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Emergency Brake Assist, while the car also boasts Electronic Stability Control and front lateral and curtain airbags in the driver and front passenger seats.<\/p>\n

The release comes after the manufacturer recently announced the sale of its DS3 Red to celebrate the beginning of a new year.<\/p>\n
