Purchasing the Mazda6 makes sense for UK businesses, it has been suggested.<\/p>\n

Steve Tomlinson, head of fleet at Mazda, noted the vehicle is ideal for company car owners due to its low CO2 emissions.<\/p>\n

His comments come in response to the introduction of changes to Capital Write Down Allowances, which were made on April 1st.<\/p>\n

Mazda believes the move – which means 130g\/km is now the company car choice list benchmark for firms wanting to limit the impact of the tax changes – plays to the low CO2 emission strengths of the Mazda6.<\/p>\n

This car – which has just gone on sale in the UK – is the third-generation of the upper medium sector fleet vehicle and is powered by the brand's high-efficiency SkyActiv engine range.<\/p>\n

The manufacturer explained all of the 24 diesel and selected petrol vehicles in its Saloon and Tourer model lineups are beneath the 130g\/km limit – meaning businesses will not have to compromise with regard to their choice of upper medium sector company cars.<\/p>\n

Businesses may therefore find they have plenty to select from when browsing the latest and best Mazda deals<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mr Tomlinson explained recent tax changes have resulted in the key CO2 emission threshold for businesses being reduced from 160g\/km, noting organisations can limit the impact of this by making sure the vehicles used are below 130g\/km to ensure they are making the most of the tax relief.<\/p>\n

He stated: "With emissions as low as 108g\/km and with combined fuel economy as high as 67.3mpg – without any sacrifice in performance – the Mazda6 is the new class leader for CO2.<\/p>\n

"Irrespective of whether businesses buy or lease their company cars they are likely to see an impact on both costs and corporate cash flow."<\/p>\n

The Mazda6 was recently recognised at the Fleet News Awards when it was named the victor in the Best Upper Medium Category, seeing off competition from Hyundai, Ford, Vauxhall and VW.<\/p>\n
