The all-new Mazda3 has something of a history of pushing the boundaries of modern car design.<\/p>\n

It's a reputation the Japanese manufacturer likes to play up to in its promotional activities – the most recent of which saw the model become the centrepiece in a huge art construct at a busy London shopping centre.<\/p>\n

Anyone who visited the Westfield complex over the weekend of March 28th to 30th would've seen the Mazda3 in an entirely new light. In a stunt to reinforce Mazda's determination to challenge convention in everything and at every available opportunity, the stunning hatchback was incorporated into some elaborate three-dimensional street art in the centre's main atrium.<\/p>\n

The spectacle was created using a mixture of acrylic and household paint by London-based street artists 3D Joe and Max.<\/p>\n

"We're continuing to collaborate with and celebrate those whom, like Mazda, have challenged convention. 3D Joe and Max's amazing artwork challenges the convention of street art. Their work is incredibly eye-catching, and our Mazda3D collaboration at Westfield gave us a fantastic opportunity to engage with a new audience via various social media networks," said James Crouch, senior marketing manager of communications at Mazda Motors UK.<\/p>\n

The innovative use of the car became a major talking point and shoppers at the Westfield Centre happily spent time taking photos of themselves with the artwork and the Mazda3.<\/p>\n

Although the opportunity to see the model in the street art has gone, it is still very simple to have the Mazda3 on your drive. The new version of the hatchback has been extremely popular with people looking at new car deals<\/a> since it was introduced at the end of last year and its success has continued into the start of 2014.<\/p>\n

The manufacturer has also enjoyed substantial critical success with the Mazda3 as the latest version has been nominated for a number of Car of the Year awards. Maybe the Turner Prize is next?<\/p>\n
