If you’re on the lookout for a truly innovative and exciting luxury vehicle this year, INFINITI is a brand well worth considering.<\/p>\n
The luxury vehicle division of Nissan was recently presented with not one, not two, but three accolades at the 2019 North American International Auto Show.<\/p>\n
INFINITI picked up the awards for best concept vehicle, best interior and best innovative use of colour, graphics or materials for its QX Inspiration Concept.<\/p>\n
The accolades were part of the EyesOn Design Awards, which see prizes handed out in seven different categories. The judging panel is made up of knowledgeable, influential figures including retired heads of design from auto manufacturers and transportation design chairs from top art schools, giving the awards genuine prestige.<\/p>\n
One of the most significant aspects of the QX Inspiration Concept is that it provides the blueprint for INFINITI’s first fully electric production car. It also gives an insight into how new car architectures and technologies are influencing the manufacturer’s design efforts.<\/p>\n
Alfonso Albaisa, senior vice-president of global design at Nissan, said the QX Inspiration represents “the future of INFINITI” and embodies how Japanese DNA can be represented through design in the “age of electrification for our premium brand”.<\/p>\n
“I am so proud of our design teams in our centres around the world,” he added. “They work so hard, often in obscurity, on these beautiful designs, and this recognition means so much to them. It is extremely gratifying and I could not be more proud.”<\/p>\n
Karim Habib, executive design director at INFINITI, said the design team behind the QX Inspiration Concept had managed to “fuse mid-century modern design with Japanese minimalism”.<\/p>\n
We’ll have to wait and see how these ideas influence the brand’s design and production efforts in the future, but for the time being, you can experience what it currently has to offer with the INFINITI QX30 crossover.<\/p>\n
