Kia Sportage named Scottish Car of the Year

The new Kia Sportage has been named as the Scottish Car of the Year by the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers (ASMW).

Leading Scottish motoring journalists were won over by the Sportage's blend of style, quality, value and its unrivalled fully transferable seven-year warranty.

Michael Cole, managing director of Kia Motors UK, said: "This is a fantastic accolade for Sportage so soon after its launch. We all knew it was a great car from the moment we saw it in Geneva and I am genuinely thrilled that our good friends in Scotland share that opinion."

President of ASMW, John Murdoch, said that the superb value for money offered by the Sportage and its sensational style made it a clear winner.

The Sportage was first unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in the spring and only arrived in Scotland in August, since then it has gone from strength to strength and proved to be a car to be proud of.
