Mazda2 fans will be interested to hear that the range has been significantly upgraded and now also includes an automatic transmission model.
Those looking for Mazda2 deals will have nine different three-door and five-door hatchbacks to choose from, offering customers a choice of one diesel and three petrol powertrains.
In response to public demand, a new automatic model has been added to the range with a 1.5-litre engine and four-speed transmission.
Mark Cameron, sales director at Mazda UK, said: "The new automatic Mazda2 Activematic is certain to expand the appeal of our smallest car."
Mazda believes that changing traffic conditions and improved automatic gearbox technology means that the appeal of automatic cars is on the increase and the manufacturer expects this car to account for eight per cent of Mazda2 sales in 2011.
The Mazda2 range also boasts a range of new features including a larger five-point grille, newly designed front fog lamp bezels and new wheels which create a sense of quality and sportiness.
