Kia models awarded top safety ratings

Motorists interested in Kia deals will be pleased to hear that the manufacturer's two latest models, the Sportage and the Venga, have been awarded 5-star safety ratings by Euro NCAP.

The ratings place both vehicles at the top of their respective classes and in the company of other 5-star Kia's such as the c'eed and the Sorento.

"These latest results from Euro NCAP highlight Kia’s commitment to ensuring exceptional levels of safety in its vehicles," commented Benny Oeyen, vice president marketing & product planning, Kia Motors Europe.

The Kia Sportage achieved scores of 93 per cent for adult protection, 86 per cent for child occupant protection and 49 per cent for pedestrian protection with the Venga scoring 89, 85 and 64 per cent respectively, in the same categories.

In early 2010, the Venga was tested by Euro NCAP and received a four-star rating, subsequently Kia engineers made a number of minor changes which brought the car up to current five-star standards.
