Mazda awarded Automotive Achievement Award

Mazda UK has been awarded the Automotive Achievement Award for its corporate excellence at the annual Welsh Motoring Writers (WMW) dinner.

Jeremy Thomson, Mazda UK managing director, said: "We are truly delighted that Mazda has been awarded the Welsh Motoring Writers Automotive Achievement Award."

"This award is further confirmation of Mazda’s innovative spirit and willingness to try new things, which has led to the creation of some remarkable automotive technologies benefitting millions of Mazda motorists."

It is 90 years since the founding of the company and 50 years since its first car was produced.

Next year will also see 50 years of ground-breaking work on the rotary combustion engine epitomised by the RX-8 sports coupe.

WMW chairman Huw Thomas said that the award was a wonderful way to celebrate the achievements of Mazda, which has a formidable legacy but is continuing to blaze a trail in automotive engineering.

Mazda recently boosted its Mazda3 and Mazda5 ranges with a variety of styling and engine modifications.
