Ford launches new iPhone app

Ford has launched a new iPhone and iPad app as the latest addition to the company's Econo Check service, which helps Ford drivers cut back on fuel costs.

The Econo Check service went on sale earlier this year, enabling Ford drivers to fit their vehicle with a data logger for seven days to monitor fuel consumption and get fuel savings tips for any car based on make, model, age and annual mileage.

Ford's new app now allows iPhone and iPad users to access Ford Econo tips and hints and make savings on fuel, which is all important as fuel prices continue to increase.

Paul Muers, Ford customer service marketing manager, said: "This new Econo Check app will help motorists to drive more fuel efficiently. Our 2011 price of £11.99 for an Econo Check at a dealership makes the service an ideal New Year resolution to pursue."

According to a recent survey of 50,000 Ford drivers incorporating the tips offered by the Econo Check app can save up to £474 a year.

Those looking for Ford deal may also be interested to hear that some of the manufacturer's range now qualifies for a 100 per cent discount on the London Congestion Charge.
