Mazda has announced that it is winning significant company car business with contract hire and leasing companies, with the award-winning Mazda6 leading the charge.
The Japanese manufacturer has seen sales to British contract hire and leasing firms increase by 14 per cent in the first ten months of 2010, according to the latest analysis by Derwent Management Services.
Mazda fleet and remarketing director Peter Allibon, said: "The analysis shows that Mazda is closing the gap on some of the UK's most popular company car providers as some brands have seen their market share slip in 2010."
He added that while the Mazda6 hatchback and estate are leading the way, demand for the Mazda3 and Mazda2 has continued to increase over 2010.
Derwent Management Services' data reveals that in the first 10 months of 2010 sales of the Mazda3 to the leading contract hire and leasing companies totalled 680 units compared with just 254 in the same period last year.
Mazda recently announced that it had gained a place on the latest National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA) agreement, meaning it will supply "standard vehicles" used on covert and special operations.
