The Insignia has been lauded as a symbol of the new generation of Vauxhall cars.
In an article for the Shropshire Star, people looking for a Vauxhall deal were told that the Insignia could be one of the most important cars the British manufacturer has ever produced.
Article author and car expert Bob Hickman noted that the model is the result of the firm's decision back in 2005 to find a replacement for the popular Vectra.
Over one million models were sold in Europe, but the GM-owned company wanted to introduce a car into the market which could capture the imagination.
"The Insignia is the first of a whole new generation of cars for Vauxhall, and probably the most important car they have ever produced," Mr Hickman said.
"It is an all-new design from the wheels upwards, the Insignia is, and dare I say it, a sporty, sleek vehicle that has a sort of dynamism and panache about it."
The Insignia features an aerodynamic shape which affords it a very low drag factor, the expert added.
