Those looking for a little more power from their Vauxhall deals may be interested to hear that the car maker has released images of the new Astra VXR, launched hot on the heels of the GTC.
The model goes on sale next year and will become one of the most powerful vehicles in its class and the fastest production Astra in Vauxhall's history.
It is based on the GTC's platform and is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged direct injection engine, which produces an impressive 280 hp of power, enabling the Astra VXR to reach a top speed of 155 mph.
Vauxhall has added a range of bespoke chassis modifications to the new model, which has transformed into a "focused, high-performance coupe," according to the manufacturer.
As well as the changes to the chassis, those looking for Vauxhall Astra deals will also benefit from new brakes developed by Brembo and the fitment of Vauxhall's innovative FlexRide system, which features a sport setting along with a VXR button.
The features offer drivers the option of two, more focused stages of damper, throttle and steering control.
A great deal of development was done at the Northern Loop of the Nurburgring and was overseen by Le Mans 24-hour race winner Jo Winkelhock.
"We have devised a great package that will convince even the most experienced and enthusiastic drivers – and not just on the Nurburgring!" said the experienced race.
Vauxhall has also added a number of visual identifiers to the new Astra to separate it from the rest of the range, including bespoke performance seats with embossed logos, a flat-bottomed VXR steering wheel and upgraded instruments.
Those looking for Vauxhall deals may be interested to hear that the manufacturer's VXR8 super-saloon was recently named as the unlikely winner of the Fleet World MPG Marathon, fighting off stiff competition from other manufacturers and models.
