Vauxhall secures brace at What Van? Awards 2012

Those looking for Vauxhall deals will no doubt be delighted to hear that the manufacturer has picked up two prestigious awards at the What Van? Awards 2012.

The Vauxhall Corsavan claimed the Small Van of the Year honour thanks to its best-in-class CO2 emissions, which stand at just 95 g/km.

It was also praised for its smooth Euro5 complaint 1.3-litre CGTi 16v turbo diesel engine, which features innovative start-stop technology, providing motorists with fuel efficiency.

Paul Barker, What Van? editor, said: "The Corsavan has taken another step forward in emissions during 2011, making it more appealing than ever and a worthy Small Van of the Year winner."

Steve Bryant, brand manager at Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles, said the company was "very happy" to pick up the award, adding that the Corsavan offers "the perfect combination of functionality, eye-catching design and low running costs".

As well as scooping the small van category award, the Luton-based manufacturer also celebrated picking up the Green Award with its ecoFLEX engine range.

In January, Vauxhall was the first commercial vehicle manufacturer to feature an eco-model for each van in its range, which includes the Corsavan, Astravan, Combo, Vivaro and Movano.

Mr Bryant said it was "great news" to be recognised with the Green Award for the ecoFLEX range.

The awards round off an impressive year for Vauxhall in the UK after the Luton factory recently won the contract to produce the next generation Vivaro van, securing jobs at the plant well into the next generation.
