Nissan and Ministry of Sound create world-class sound system

Japanese car manufacturer Nissan and dance music company Ministry of Sound have teamed up to create a state-of-the-art touring sound system.

The Juke Box is the world's most powerful sound system on the road, capable of producing up to 150db of pumping tunes, making it louder than a jumbo jet taking off.

It marks a long-term brand partnership between the two firms and comes with the technical expertise of sound specialists at Martin Audio, who created the speaker system in the Ministry of Sound's legendary main room The Box in their eponymous nightclub.

When Justin Berkmann, one of the Ministry of Sound's founders, along with James Palumbo and Humphrey Waterhouse, first opened the nightclub in 1991 he was truly breaking the mould. The music and the sound system were held in the highest regards, above all other factors that make a nightclub what it is.

The Box is a five-sided room designed to be acoustically perfect, and more than 20 years later is still considered to be one of the greatest sound systems in the world.

This philosophy has been brought to lucky customers getting Nissan deals for the Juke to create a mobile 18,900W sound system that is sure to be the envy of all other motorists and pedestrians.

Nissan has managed to fit the Box inside the Juke with ease, thanks to custom-built cabinets to enclose two 18-inch powered sub units and the same Mid Hi enclosure used at the Ministry of Sound club.

This means it can be incredibly loud without compromising the sound quality of the driver's favourite songs.

The Nissan Juke Box also offers a radio studio incorporated into the vehicle, so that anything that motorists play on the system is free to be captured for broadcast through the Ministry of Sound's digital radio app.

Gareth Dunsmore, marketing communications for Nissan in Europe, said: "We have made a great product that we believe creates excitement through our innovative approach to the small car market; Ministry of Sound is the industry leader in creating the moments people live for through their bespoke sound systems. Together with Nissan Design Europe, RML and Ministry of Sound we wanted to challenge the establishment and make something truly unique."

The Nissan Juke Box will be debuted at Le Mans over this weekend.
