Kia has picked up a prestigious award for its all-new cee'd.
The motor has been named the Northern Car of the Year by the Northern Group of Motoring Writers, with its sophistication and refinement both praised by the journalists who cast their vote.
Those looking to get their hands on an award-winning vehicle may therefore wish to check out the latest Kia deals.
Despite facing stiff competition in the category, the five-door cee'd was able to pick up the prize – the first it has received since its launch in May – thanks to its high quality and value for money.
The win represents the second time in two years that the carmaker has emerged victorious in the prize-giving, as its Sportlage design scooped the accolade in 2011.
Stephen Kitson, communications director at Kia Motors UK, accepted the award at a ceremony held in Wetherby, Yorkshire.
Mr Kitson said it is a great honour for Kia to be recognised in this way and noted the successive wins underline the manufacturer's commitment to providing great products to its customers in the UK.
He stated: "We are very grateful to the Northern Group to Motoring Writers as we know how hard it is to win their approval because they think first and foremost about their readers and their needs."
Derrick Grocock, vice-chairman of the Northern Group of Motoring Writers, explained the Kia cee'd was the clear winner in the category, even though there a great number of high-quality cars have been introduced to the market in recent times.
Mr Grocock heralded the vehicle's reliability, comfort quality, adding those who purchase the auto are given peace of mind through its seven-year warranty.
"For hard-pressed motorists in the North, investment in a new car has to really work hard to be justified and the Kia cee’d delivers on every front," he added.
Those looking to purchase the new model can now also get their hands on the Sportswagon variant, which has been added to the range.
