A new industry survey has named Ford as the most reliable manufacturer of commercial vehicles in the UK.
The Fleet News 50 report placed Ford ahead of rivals such as Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Vauxhall and Citroen in its overall rankings, meaning the company has improved on its third-place finish last year.
Meanwhile, the Ford Transit and Transit Connect vans occupied the top two spots in the accompanying list of the most reliable vehicle models, above the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Volkswagen Transporter and Volkswagen Caddy.
This study is the largest of its kind in the UK, making it an important indicator of Ford's high quality standards.
Mark Ovenden, managing director at Ford of Britain, said: "This is a tribute to the passion and dedication of our designers and engineers at Dunton who make quality the highest priority."
Figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders released earlier this week show that Ford has been the top-selling van manufacturer in the UK for 47 years in succession.
