Ford Ranger wins International Pick-Up Award 2013

Ford has picked up its third major award of the year after its new Ranger won the International Pick-Up Award 2013 at the Fleet Transport Expo in Dublin.

Following a series of tests conducted by experts at the Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire, the Ranger was found to be the best pick-up available on the market by some distance.

The vehicle garnered 47 points from the judging panel after every member of the committee ranked it number one in the category thanks to its impressive performance in areas such as on and off-road driving, towing capability and safety.

This represents a higher points total than the combined number gained by the second and third-placed alternatives – the Isuzu D-Max and Volkswagen's Amarok.

Jarlath Sweeney, a panellist, commented: "The Ford Ranger is a great all-rounder, combining the perfect blend of on-road comfort and stability with off-road capability."
