New pro_cee’d specification announced by Kia

Kia motors has announced specification details for its new release – the pro_cee'd.

This car is a three-door hatchback and represents the third instalment of the latest Kia family, following earlier releases of the cee'd hatchback and the cee'd Sportswagon.

The brand also revealed the pro_cee'd GT – which is the carmaker's first-ever performance-orientated model – will be available in the summer.

Motorists who purchase the pro_cee'd after checking out the latest Kia deals will have a choice of two trim levels in the form of the S and SE, with both designs being unique to this car .

There is also the choice of two different engines for those interested in purchasing the new motor, with the 1.6 litre GD petrol and 1.6 litre CRDi turbodiesel with Intelligent Stop & Go both being available in each trim grade.

Peter Schreyer, president and chief design officer at Kia Motors Corporation, said: "The all-new Kia pro_cee'd is a true clean sheet design.

"With its distinctive form language and dynamic proportions, muscular stance and athletic lines, this coupe follows a very different visual path to the cee'd.
It's a completely different car on every level."

The pro_cee'd is longer and lower than the other models in Kia's portfolio, with the manufacturer explaining particular emphasis has been placed on greater dynamism and performance.

Redesigns on the current cee'd have taken place on the roof, body sides and rear end of the vehicle, while improved collision safety is ensured through the inclusion of ring-shaped structures on the tailgate opening area and the centre pillars.

Drivers may notice a particular difference between the pro_cee'd and its predecessors when it comes to the front design of the car.

This aesthetic is completely unique and sees the front fog lights positioned inset as part of a new layered design, with dark chrome highlights and a lower bumper completing the look.

A sleek side profile is ensured thanks to a number of design features, including a lower roofline, chrome window surrounds, a sloping beltline and a narrow glasshouse.
