Mazda CX-5 lineup ‘welcomes SE-L Lux models’

The Mazda CX-5 lineup now includes the SE-L Lux and SE-L Lux Nav models.

Mazda has added two new designs to its CX-5 lineup in the form of the SE-L Lux and the SE-L Lux nav models.

The carmaker revealed it has introduced the revamped vehicles after listening to feedback from its customers. Following the update, the cars now boast the manufacturer's fuel-saving SKYACTIV technology, as well as a sunroof, power-adjusted driver's seat, leather trim and heated front seats.

Those checking out the latest Mazda deals will find they are able to pick up the SE-L Lux motor from around £24,495, while the SE-L Lux Nav is likely to set them back in the region of £25,195.

Both editions are based on the blueprint of the 2.2-litre diesel 150ps 2WD SE-L, while they also have outstanding emissions from 119 g/km and fuel economy up to 61.4 miles per gallon.

Peter Allibon, sales director at Mazda UK, explained the changes have been carried out after many potential Mazda customers expressed interest in the release of a CX-5 complete with sunroof and leather trim – one they could purchase without splashing out as much money as required to buy a top of the range Sport model.

He stated: "Now, responding to that latent demand, we are adding two models to our Mazda CX-5 range, based on our most popular and economical powertrain – the 2.2-litre diesel 150ps with 2WD and six-speed manual transmission.

"The premium is an extremely modest £1,200 for an upgraded specification which would cost more than £2,500 with some rival brands."

Mr Allibon added customers are being faced with a "remarkably compelling" ownership proposition thanks to the CX-5, due to its high specifications, low running costs, competitive pricing and because it is great fun to drive.

The Mazda CX-5 collection now includes 20 vehicles, with these all falling within the £21,595 to £29,395 price range. Those looking to buy one of the models have options between petrol or diesel engines, manual or automatic transmissions and two-wheel or all-wheel drive.
