UK awaits new Nissan Qashqai

Anyone who has been checking out the latest new car deals in the last few weeks
may want to hang on a couple more days, as Nissan has just announced that it is to unveil its latest Qashqai.

The existing model has become a leader in the crossover/MPV market due to its combination of innovation, desirability and smart design. The Japanese automaker hopes that the newest version of the Qashqai can build on this strong tradition and raise standards in the crossover section even higher.

Petrolheads and prospective buyers will need to wait until Thursday (November 7th) to get the full details on the new Qashqai, but the company has released some stats and specs about its activities in the UK to whet the appetite.

Nissan's plant in Sunderland will produce the next-generation Nissan Qashqai, alongside the Note and Juke and the 100 per cent electric Nissan LEAF.

The brand has been a favourite with the British car-buying public over the years, with consumers impressed by the range of options available from the company and the reliability of its vehicles. As such, since 1986, total production in the Sunderland plant stands at more than seven million units, with the cars being shipped to happy motorists in 97 markets across the world.

Innovation is a clear and fundamental aspect of Nissan's ethos and it has invested around £3.5 billion in its UK operations and has a European Design Centre located in Paddington, London which employs 65 people. In addition to the plant and the design centre, there is also the European Technical Centre. This is based in Cranfield, Bedfordshire and has more than 1,000 people working there.

With so much design resources and expertise at its disposal, it is no wonder Nissan's latest unveiling is causing a stir among enthusiasts and motoring industry experts.

There is less than 48 hours to find out what all the fuss is about.
