BMW debuts 2 Series Gran Tourer

Adding to its growing range of family-friendly vehicles, BMW has introduced its brand new 2 Series Gran Tourer. It marks the manufacturer's first premium compact model to offer up to seven seats, meeting the requirements of families around the country.

Its compact exterior dimensions offer great flexibility and allow drivers to personalise it to suit their needs. With a sliding second row of seats with adjustable backrests, a third row of seats that fold into the floor, and provision for up to five universal child seats, there is more than enough room and options to suit the whole family.

The new BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer comes with a choice of five turbocharged petrol and diesel engines from the manufacturer's latest line. Complemented by either three or four cylinders, the model brings a high level of efficiency and, in the case of the 220i and 220d, a 0-62 mph time as low as 7.8 seconds.

BMW's latest family offering also brings with it a number of features including Efficient Dynamics and Connected Drive technologies. The new 2 Series Gran Tourer also takes advantage of the manufacturer's position as a world leader in driver safety with a number of innovative features, as well as various energy-saving and connectivity offerings.

The new BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer is compact but comfortable, seating up to seven people while delivering a generous load compartment that extends from 560 to 1,820 litres. It also brings – as standard – third-row seats, giving two additional passengers plenty of space.

With safety as a top priority, the car also features a non-slip step in the rear door, enabling passengers to easily leave and enter the vehicle. When these seats aren't in use, they can be easily lowered into the load area floor to save space.

On the outside, the vehicle brings all the good looks that have become synonymous with the German manufacturer with its trio of BMW icons, twin kidney grille and pair of round headlights.
