Audi has confirmed a number of details for its new SQ7 – which is set to rival top-of-the-range SUVs such as the Porsche Cayenne Turbo and Range Rover Sport SVR.
It is expected the Audi SQ7 will go on sale in May, with the UK seeing the first deliveries towards the end of summer.
One of the highlights of the Audi Sq7 is expected to be the 4.0-litre V8 diesel engine, capable of producing 429 bhp. It will also be the first production Audi to feature an electric powered compressor.
This means the car will be able to do 0 to 62 mph in 4.8 seconds – 1.3 seconds quicker than the current most powerful model in the Q7 line-up.
Apart from under-the-hood, the overall design of the new Audi is relatively unchanged with some minor adjustments to the exterior, including new side air intakes, a darker grille and upgraded bumpers.
Prices for the Audi SQ7 will start at around £70,000, with additional costs for various upgrades including LED headlights, 20-inch wheels, sportily contoured bumpers and door trim strips, adaptive air suspension with S-specific tuning, as well as electrically adjustable and heated sport seats.
