Audi plans entry-level V6

Rumours
are abound that Audi
is planning
to add an entry-level model to its R8 range.

The automaker could be set to at a V8 3.0-litre
twin-turbocharged petrol engine to its line-up – the same block to be used in the forthcoming updated S4 Saloon and Avant –
capable of producing 349 bhp.

It is also expected the S4 will feature Quattro-four wheel drive and a S tronic automatic transmission, offering a top speed of 190 mph.

Exact details on pricing and launching are still sketchy, but it is likely European buyers will be able to order for delivery in 2017.

The current V10 model starts at £119,500, so the V6 is likely to be more affordable.

Audi
is
also set to launch a new Spyder convertible before the start of next year
as it continues to expand its model range.
